The Market is Open - June 30

We got a very nice rain shower yesterday afternoon! It’s a little late to help with this week’s market, but we’re hoping the rain will encourage the beans to put on a new set of blossoms so we can have beans to offer again next week.

We’re settled into the typical summer crops now – okra and tomatoes. I’m adding a couple of recipes that take advantage of this combination. The sweet corn is close to maturity, although the stalks took a beating during a little windstorm one night. We also hope to have lima beans to offer in another week.

For this week, place your orders between noon today and 5 p.m. Friday for pickup at Saturday’s farmers’ market (9-11 a.m.).

Eat something fresh this week!
