Cold weather is hard on plants and hard on people, and the forecast this week is for really cold weather. We’ve decided to cancel Foothills Market this week to give everyone – plants and people – a little break. See you next week!

In case you haven’t noticed, Friday is Valentine’s Day. At Foothills Market, we’ve got you covered with fresh, homemade treats for your special someone – or for yourself!

Browse the market, where you can find Sweetheart Brownies (shaped like a heart), Cherry Pie Cookies (filled with plump cherries), Sweetheart Cookies (strawberry flavored with a chocolate kiss), or King Cake (with or without the hidden baby!). You can also choose from several different cuts of steak, as well as lamb chops or pork chops if you want to make it a special meal. Shop between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., and we’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday – just in time for the holiday!

Our sunny, cold weather is an improvement on last week – I guess??? Though the bitter cold is limiting what we have to offer on Foothills Market, you still have some interesting options on the market.

Check out these delicious possibilities on the Recipes section:

• Chicken and Vegetable Curry – the original recipe calls for chicken, but you could easily substitute pork, lamb or beef for a hearty, warming dinner. Round out the meal with crusty, garlicky focaccia!
