We had two rows with beautiful, lush vines, and we were excited to see the potatoes beneath. But when we dug the potatoes a week or so ago, we found that a big percentage of the potatoes had split and are not suitable for selling. What a disappointment!

But to paraphrase the saying, “When life gives you split sweet potatoes, make sweet potato breads!” This week, we are offering a selection of items on the market that feature sweet potatoes, ranging from a rich sweet potato-cinnamon bread to decadent sweet potato mini-muffins to light sweet potato biscuits.

Our growers at Sycamore Grove Farm were processing their new batch of sorghum the past two weekends, and they have plenty for the market. No additives, just pure sorghum juice cooked down into the delicious syrup you can add to baked goods, salad dressings or fresh on a hot biscuit!
