The Market is Open!
Here it is, mid-April already, and it seems freezing temperatures are safely behind us. Our Foothills Market growers have jumped in on the season, planting beans, corn and even setting out tomatoes.
While it may be a couple of months before you see any tomatoes on the market, you can still get a basket full of garden-fresh goodies. Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., and click the “Place your order” button. We’ll have your items ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon.

The Market is Open!
We at Foothills Market hope you are enjoying your weekend, however you choose to do that. But a new week lurks just around the corner, and with it, the most dreaded question – “What’s for dinner?”
While we can’t answer that question for you, we have plenty of items on the market that can give you a place to start. You can build your menu around some of our local beef, or you might enjoy a variety of fresh greens grown here in Johnson County. Don’t have time to bake? We’ve got you covered there, as well, with decadent brownies and cookies like Grandma used to make.
Shop between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., and we’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday.

Eggs! Eggs! We've Got 'Em!
Just in time for Easter, Foothills Market has plenty of eggs for family traditions of decorating and hunting. Don’t be discouraged by the facts that these eggs are brown – that just enhances the dye. And some of the eggs are so pretty in their natural colors you may not want to dye them at all!
Check out the market for chicken or duck eggs, as well as the variety of spring greens we have available in both baby or full size. After all, that’s another great Easter tradition – a family dinner. Let us add help you add a local touch to your meal this year.
Shop between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., and be sure to click that “Place your order” button. We’ll have your items ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon.

The Market Is Open!
Ready to try something different? Last week, our Foothills Market managers had a family situation that took us to Minneapolis, and we ate at an Ethiopian cafe while in the city. One of the dishes we tried was Gomem be siga, which was collard greens cooked with beef. It was delicious, although getting used to eating with fingers instead of a fork was quite an experience!
I found a recipe, and the dish seemed to be easy enough to cook at home. I’ve posted the recipe on our website. You can pick up the collards and osso bucco on the market if you’d like to bring a little international cuisine into your kitchen.
We also have our regular offerings on the market, including lots of eggs. Shop between now and 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, and we’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday.

No Market This Week
Our managers for Foothills Market had a family situation come up that interferes with the market time, so unfortunately, we are going to be closed for this week.
However, if you want to order eggs from Sheepy Hollow Farm, contact them through their Facebook page to place an order and make pickup arrangements.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope to be back online next week!
