The Market is (Really) Open!
I messed up on Sunday and forgot to click the button to enable the market. I’m sorry about that. The market is now open for ordering until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
(I blame the Packers….)

Meet Your Farmer
Today will be the first of a new feature introducing the farmers who offer products on Foothills Market.
Justin Lowe – Rural Route Farms
Justin Lowe, owner of Rural Route Farms, offers local honey in different size containers, including the always-popular “honey bear.” Justin has been a full-time beekeeper for five years. Rural Route Farms not only sells honey but also sells queen bees and nucs (a beginning set of bees) to establish new beehives. Justin has nearly 500 beehives throughout Johnson, Pope, and Yell counties. Turn to Rural Route Farm if you want to gain the many health benefits of honey and also know that you are getting 100 percent raw honey – which is not guaranteed when you buy honey in a store.
Market Reminder
Sounds like we have some nasty weather coming in for the weekend. It may be a good time to stock up so you’ll all set for some healthy meals without having to leave home! Be sure to place your order on the market by 5:00 p.m. today for pickup tomorrow.
The Market is Open!
Foothills Market is open for another week of shopping!
You may have heard a couple of months ago about the recall of a half-million pounds of pork because of food safety concerns. Although no one was reported as getting sick from the pork, the USDA issued the recall because the company that made the products had not been inspected over a two-year period. This case is one reason our vendors are proud to offer meat that is raised on our farms, taken to a facility with USDA inspection on-site, and offered to you without going through all the hands that handle the meat you see in a grocery store.
We have a large selection of different cuts of beef and pork, with a more limited offering (at this point) of lamb. Our vendors have everything from lean ground beef and steaks to smoked bacon and pork chops. We even have fully-cooked Cheddar-Jalapeno summer sausage.
Check out our meat offerings on the market, as well as the listing for fresh vegetables, local honey, and sweet treats. Submit your order by Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. by clicking the “Place your order” button. We’ll have your order ready for pickup Thursday between 5:00-5:30 p.m.

The Market Is On Vacation!
Foothills Market is taking a break for the next two weeks to allow our growers to enjoy the holiday season. We will not have a market on December 19 or 26. But we’ll be back on January 2 with fresh vegetables, locally-grown meats, local honey, and baked goods.
We hope you have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! We appreciate your business!
